Prasanta Bhattarai

Prasanta Bhattarai is a master of urban planning graduate from the State University of New York at Buffalo with specialization in GIS and Planning Technologies. With undergraduate degree in architecture, he has over four years of focused experience in architecture, interior design, and construction. As a student, he also got opportunities working in urban design, planning, and 3D visualization related projects. 3D technologies and visualization has always been his interest and has a well-built knowledge in several 3D visualization packages like 3D Studio Max, Autodesk VIZ, Creator, and Sketch Up. Prasanta also has a strong knowledge of other software like AutoCAD, Photoshop, and ArcGIS.
Prasanta joined the ESC in June 2007. He is currently working as a junior research associate with expertise in 3D Modeling, real time simulation and GIS (Geographical Information System). Mr. Bhattarai has been working on shadow analysis and urban design part of the ESC's portion of Environmental Impact Statement for a development project in uptown Manhattan. Among other, he is looking into daylight simulation with the UNIX based program "Radiance" which is used for analysis and visualization of lighting in design.
